Tutorials

.

My first tutorial that I am going to feature here is the age
old question, the question that I get asked MOST of all…

.

(There is also the option on my Extra’s page- you can now order your very own HTML “snaggie” Code Box for you visitors to easily and quickly ‘grab your button and go’! Plus, I will install it FOR YOU! Click HERE for more info!)

.

“How do I add my new blinkie to my blog???”

I will be writing up TWO different tutorials. One for Blogger
blogs, and one for WordPress blogs.

.

.

.

.

BLOGGER

.

.

First step is to upload your image to a photo hosting site of
your choice. A few sites that I enjoy using are:

.

.

www.photobucket.com

www.imageshack.us

.

.

Then, make sure you are logged into your Blogger acct properly,
then follow the screen shots below…

.

.

..

Find your blog in the list of blogs that you want to add the blinkie to…

1) click small down arrow

2) in the menu, click LAYOUT

.

.

.

.

You will find the side bar that you want your image to be in and click  1) Add A Gadget

.

.

.

.

You will need to scroll through the offered gadgets in the pop up window to find HTML/JAVA SCRIPT and click the title or + sign to add it to your blog.

.

.

.

.

1) In the pop up, you will add the HTML code that you got when
you uploaded your image to your photo hosting site of choice (most photo hosting sites will offer a DIRECT LINK to the image, you will need that snippet of coding)… Your coding needs to look a proper way though so you can copy and paste the below coding into your blogger gadget and replace the URL TO IMAGE HERE with the direct link from your photo host, please remember to remove the pink asterisks from the coding.

.

<*img src=’URL TO IMAGE HERE’*>

.

Once you do that, you need to click 2) SAVE on the pop up… then
you will be able to drag it up or down within your layout to where ever you’d like it situated on
your Blogger blog!

WORDPRESS

First step is to upload your image to a photo hosting site of
your choice. A few sites that I enjoy using are:

www.photobucket.com

www.imageshack.us

.

.

Then you need to make sure you are logged into your WordPress
blog properly and in your ‘Dashboard’ section…

.

.

.

Click on Widgets, then follow the screen shots below…

.

.

.

In your ‘Widgets’ section, you will click on ‘Text’, and drag
the ‘Text’ box over to your sidebar, generally located to the right as seen in
the screen shot below…

.

.

.

.

After dropping the ‘Text’ box in your Sidebar, it will
automatically fly open for you to copy down  the HTML code that you got when you uploaded your image to your photo hosting site of choice (most photo hosting sites will offer a DIRECT LINK to the image, you will need that snippet of coding)… Your coding needs to look a proper way though so you can copy and paste the below coding into your blogger gadget and replace the URL TO IMAGE HERE with the direct link from your photo host, please remember to remove the pink asterisks from the coding.

.

<*img src=’URL TO IMAGE HERE’*>

.

Once you do that, you need to click SAVE on the widget… then
you will be able to drag it up or down within your sidebar to where ever you’d like it situated on
your blog!

My second tutorial for you all is based on this question:

“How do visitors snag my blinkie from my blog?!”

.

.

The answer is actually quite simple! You need to tell your visitors to RIGHT-CLICK on the desired blinkie like so…

or…

There is also the option on my Extra’s page- you can now order your very own HTML “snaggie” Code Box for you visitors to easily and quickly ‘grab your button and go’! Plus, I will install it FOR YOU! Click HERE for more info!

.

.

.

.

Then choose option SAVE AS or SAVE IMAGE AS and then they can save the blinkie to their own personal computers. Once they have saved your blinkie to their computer, they can upload your blinkie to the image host of their choice. Then they can refer to the tutorial above on how to add YOUR blinkie to THEIR blog! :)

.

.

.

.

Thanks so much for following my tutorial(s)! If you ever have
any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to write me @
designsbysarahbryan@gmail.com.
